Laughter Yoga

Because Life is Too Short to Take Seriously.

OK, we get it—Laughter Yoga sounds weird. The idea of standing in a room full of strangers, fake-laughing your way to enlightenment, might seem like something only an overenthusiastic life coach would dream up. But here’s the thing: it actually works.

It’s not yoga in the stretchy-pants, downward-dog sense—you won’t need a mat, and there’s no warrior pose involved. Instead, it’s a wild, slightly ridiculous, but scientifically-backed practice that combines unconditional laughter with deep yogic breathing. Why? Because your brain doesn’t know the difference between real laughter and fake laughter—it just knows that laughing makes you feel awesome.

Here’s a depressing fact: Children laugh 300-400 times a day. Adults? A measly 10-15 times. Somewhere along the way, we traded belly laughs for stress, deadlines, and overpriced coffee. Laughter Yoga is here to fix that.

Why Try Laughter Yoga?

Other than the fact that it’s completely socially acceptable to cackle like a lunatic for an hour? Well…

  • It boosts mood and reduces stress (because we all need a break from doomscrolling and existential dread).

  • It triggers the release of endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin—the magical trio of feel-good chemicals.

  • It improves oxygen flow, increases circulation, and strengthens your immune system. Basically, it’s a full-body wellness hack.

  • It’s also exercise—laughter engages your core, works your diaphragm, and gets your heart rate up. Think of it as an ab workout disguised as fun

  • It helps you reconnect with childlike playfulness—because let’s face it, adulting is exhausting.

What You Will Experience:

You’ll show up (possibly skeptical).

  1. We’ll start with some simple breathing exercises to ease in.

  2. Then you’ll engage in playful, childlike laughter exercises designed to trigger contagious laughter.

  3. What starts as fake laughter quickly turns real.

  4. Expect clapping, improvised silliness, uninhibited joy—and yes, a little movement!

  5. By the end, you’ll feel lighter, happier, and vaguely confused about why more people don’t do this. And remember, we’re all doing this together!
